Marsworth Parish Council consists of a team of committed volunteers all of whom live in the village. They can all be contacted directly but for general parish issues please contact the Parish Clerk, Caroline Smith (full details below)
Robert Kennedy
Chairman
Bob has lived in Marsworth since 1987; prior to that he was in Bulbourne. He lives ‘along the lane to Manor House Farm’ with his wife Christine. Bob's eldest son Neil and his family live in Vicarage Road opposite the Red Lion.
Bob is a part-time accountant
Bob has been on the council since early 2007 and was chairman for three of those years and subsequently took on the position again in 2021. He sees his role as a parish councillor as being a representative of the village and working on its behalf. He set up the Marsworth Village Website and managed it for many years.
As for the local community, Bob supports the church, school, village hall, local pubs, steam rally and the canal/reservoir environs. He is keen to see them thrive and be well looked after.

Giles Monks
Vice-Chair
Giles has lived in Marsworth since 2000. Before that he lived in Ivinghoe, but is originally from London. He lives on Vicarage Road with his wife Ruth and three children: Thomas and Isobel who are currently at University, while James still attends Tring School. Giles is a secondary school teacher in Bushey.
Giles joined the Parish Council in 2006 and has been Vice-Chair since 2011. In 2019, he led the Parish Council’s project to establish the Polish memorial sign at the site of the former Polish resettlement camp in Marsworth. This was unveiled by the Polish Military Attaché and celebrated by former residents, villagers and the wider Polish community.
Giles is also Chair of Governors at Marsworth School, and supports All Saint’s Church, also helping to mow the churchyard and assist at fundraising events including the Fun Run. A keen supporter of the Steam Rally and long-standing volunteer, he has also organised other events for the village including the 2012 Jubilee and Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration. As a Parish Councillor, he aims to provide a pragmatic and practical view to address local concerns, maintaining and strengthening our village community.

Denise Cornwall
Councillor
Denise moved to Marsworth in 1998. She lives in Norvic Road with her partner Hugh.
She has been a Parish Councillor for three years. She has never been chairman and thinks it’s not a role that she would want to do.
She is now retired; before retirement she worked for an oil company for 34 yrs.
Besides her Parish Council work, Denise is also a volunteer for Iain Rennie and is often seen in their shop in Wendover. She is a member of All Saints choir and a member of Marsworth WI. She organises the WI supper club and a craft evening that she attends.
She does not have one special specific interest, but has an allotment in Long Marston that takes up a lot of her time and she enjoys her days there with the other allotment holders. She belongs to a theatre group and regularly goes to the theatre in London. She also likes cooking - but please don't ask her to make you any scones!
As for Parish Council involvement, Denise wants to be a councillor that people feel they can approach and talk to. From the amount of calls that she gets from villagers about their concerns and issues, she feels that she is succeeding in that role. She is prepared to discuss, address and support as much as her role as a councillor allows her to do for the local community.

Christine King
Councillor
I have lived most of my life in Chesham, before coming to live in Marsworth, with my partner Robin in 2010. I was already familiar with Marsworth as all three of my children were taught to ride by Mrs Ridpath whose stables were down Church Lane.
When my children were young I ran my own successful floristry business, selling the business to take a very different role as a medical secretary working both in a GP surgery and our local hospitals.
Soon after moving into Marsworth I joined the WI, quickly joining the committee which I very much enjoyed. I have been President for nearly five years.
My interests are reading, gardening, travel, music, politics and DIY. I hope I can make a valuable contribution to the Parish Council with my various experience and my enthusiasm.

He has recently joined the Tring Farmers Market Committee. He regularly contributes to Marsworth News (Rural Rambler) and the Wilstone Village News (allotment articles).
